First of all, you need to establish the true voltage coming from the alternator. Beg, borrow or steal a Digital Multimeter and using the volt meter, check the voltage coming off of the alternator. Neg lead to a chassis ground point and positive lead to the B+ on the alternator. Then check it at the battery, they should be the same.Look on corvetteforum for some clues and diagnostic steps. If your system just needs to be topped off, then "interdynamics" has a R-134A, 14 or 18 oz trigger operated refrigerant can with a low pressure gauge and a low side, low loss fitting on the end of it. When i accelerate up to 4000rpms, the voltage drops significantly to about 10 or 11v.
