I have a glenfield 30A that was sold thru Otasco (Oklahoma Tire & Supply Stores) as a limited edition gun,marked Marlin 3080.I like the gun and besides the stock,appears the same as my sons 336.I contacted Marlin and this gun was made in 1980 (no cross bolt safety). It is a very good shooter with a 20 inch barrel. Marlin has since dropped the use of the Glenfield name. Marlin marketed the following lever action center-fire rifles under the Glenfield name: Model 36G, from 1964-65. Model 30, from 1966-1972. Model 30A, from 1973-1983. Model 30GT, from 1979-1980. Its been said the Glennies shoot more accurately than the 336's because of the fore arm end cap. I can't speak to that really, but they have turned me into a Marlin fan.
