Following up on the dim generator light issue on my 1964 4020 diesel, open station tractor from last night. After doing some more checking, it became obvious that there still had to be a resistor in the circuit of the generator light.Aug 30, 2013 · I mentioned couple weeks ago picking up a 4020 w/powershift at local auction. It was 1 owner but we knew the maint was very poor... Changing all fluids and filters --expecting to see some gremlins pop up. Our issue now is the powershift going forward works great. Reverse, not so much. probably needs the injection pump rebuilt. Likely. caused by the governor weight assembly flex ring. breaking apart. Being exposed to the fuel, heat and. time it becomes hard and starts breaking to pieces. The pieces float around in the pump and get lodged in. to the wrong places and cause this kind of symptom. Let us see if others confirm.Now we are a dairy farm. I push the starter button and I hear the starter motor turning but the bendix does not engage the flywheel... or it is every so slightly engaging that it doesn't even sound like it's grinding. The the early ones, 1st reverse is the same speed as 3rd forward, 2nd reverse is like 5th and 3rd reverse is like 7th. So, 3rd reverse is 12mph. Great for plowing snow. :rock.
