I am not sure if the 990 has a thermistor behind the fuse box but if that is bad it will cause starting issues with your hold-in fuel solenoid. It's a very common problem with the 4x10 series tractors which were built around the same time as the 990's so it might be something worth checking into.22-Dec-2021 ... If I remember right judging from the numbering system change, a 990 is at least a couple years old and probably should have had it changed regardless of the hours. Just my 2 cents.
